"Am I the heroine in some story?"
Why do you think this show is called "Pocket Monster: Liko and Roy set off"

Anyways liking what I watch so far, the story was nice and the mc was likable. I love her partner pokemon too.

Y-Man • 1 year ago

btw, I really liked this anime, YK, I was kinda sad to know that this anime is again focusing on the young watchers, instead of yk the adult watchers, say the teens and above, bcz I felt that'd be a lot better bcz it'd be like, the Ash pokemon to the children, then the new version for the teens. I really support the decision of retiring Ash, bcz Pokemon has lost the popularity that it had a decade ago, so my opinion of having a series dedicated to the teen watchers would bring a significant rise in the number of watchers, and increasing the quality of the animation would be the best thing to do. But after watching these two eps, it looks promising, and m surely gonna enjoy this version of Pokemon, m in love with Liko already.

SD • 1 year ago

XY had more of a shounen feel to it and felt like it was aimed at teens but when that season was airing the profits started dropping. While it'd be cool to see a Pokemon series aimed at an older audience, it's the kids that are the main audience and make them money.

Moin Mahmud • 1 year ago

Well pokemon is around for like 27 years, it's not the children who made it to its best heyday that time it's us the og fans

Jerry D. Metz • 1 year ago

Pokémon never lost it's popularity.. But with this new series and the new TCG I bet it will decline in months. ;)

Josh Kala • 1 year ago

hahahahahah she now holds the mantle of the new FMC of pokemon .

Annecy Change • 1 year ago

To be fair. Most people be more focus on Liko than Roy. I say down the road most people don't care Roy. If he turn out be like Goh. The dude is doom. Mine prediction. The dude probably be there just for filler content and comedy. Until they focus back on Liko plot. If he doesn't have any compelling story that we should care about. Than yes she really is the Heroine of the story we care about.

Eyleen Sena • 1 year ago

In a way, it has been basically the same with Ash and everyone tagging along. I get what you mean, but let's see how it turns out like since Roy hasn't even appeared yet. At least, I'm glad it's not a female character just there to be a potentiel love interest to the MC.

IStandAlone Roronoa Zoro • 1 year ago

This makes me super angry many times! Every time there is a girl and boy heroes series, everyone rather focuses on the girl rather than the guy! That is gender discrimination!

Kyuubi Kitsune-san • 1 year ago

I think what he/she was trying to say was about the likeability of the plot, not the gender, although by what you were trying to say, it's kinda normal depending on which gender are you more attached to, it's not necessarily gender discrimination when there's adoration going on without the intent to hate the other one's gender

IStandAlone Roronoa Zoro • 1 year ago

But it is gender discrimination when you prefer a gender over the other, without considering that the other character may have potential as well! You'd be surprised how many times I've seen this in anime! People in comments sections always putting the female characters on a pedestal and the male ones becoming the but of all jokes! I am a straight man and heterosexual, but I also prefer some all-men anime like Haikyuu, Blue Lock or Futsal Boys that are more aimed towards men rather than women! There should be an equal liking towards both genders!

Syiepherze • 1 year ago

My guy, you need to RELAX LOL. Besides, Roy hasn't even shown up yet!! We don't know much about his character, aside from him being outgoing (from what's been shown anyway).
I think people are more drawn towards Liko because her design is a bit more visually interesting (i.e. her color scheme pops out more), and the story seems to be focusing on her for now (but that may change as Roy's own story starts to unfold). Be patient, even I wanna like Roy as a character!
Edit: btw, straight already means heterosexual

IStandAlone Roronoa Zoro • 1 year ago

Liko's colour design does pop out, but her personality as a character is very bland. I seriously hope she won't get more popular than Roy ONLY bcs she's a girl, knowing anime fans today and how they are :(

al • 1 year ago

It not bland, it's just different, i for one can relate to being shi and awkward with my word said that age, the feeling of starting something new, starting from the bottom. I like her, and i look forward to her character growth.

Eyleen Sena • 1 year ago

(talking about shonen) I remember tenish years ago, everyone was only about male characters (in terms of hype) as females characters were, for a good amount of them, just there to make some ppl drool but they had no character/personality whatsoever (not surprising considering the way women are seen/treated in Japan). And recently, chicks in mainstream anime are giving me the creeps (objectification) coz I have the feeling it's way worse than before, but meh, maybe I'm wrong.

BizzaReOtaku • 11 months ago

i kind of miss the grouping experience and just sleeping out in the woods, doing side missions, man im going to miss james...

Moin Mahmud • 11 months ago

It's called fanservice, brought to you by the early 80s anime era of Japan with the introduction of Lum Invader

IStandAlone Roronoa Zoro • 11 months ago

And why can't a boy doing his best and battling other trainers in a 'kids anime' also be considered fan-service?

Night • 1 year ago

Actually the show is called Pokemon Horizons 🤓

Xone • 1 year ago

"Horizons" is what other sites are calling it instead of "Pokemon (Shinsaku Anime)".

Blazing Dragon Wolf • 1 year ago

Even tho it's clearly been advertised as "Pokemon Horizons"???

Xone • 1 year ago

I hadn't seen any advertisements for it. Other than a youtube video trying to theorize that she was Ash's daughter lol. Then again, I don't watch TV anyways so commercials and ads are non-existent.

Night • 1 year ago

Pokemon Horizons is what this Pokemon series is called though, you could look it up on YouTube or Google if you want

Xone • 1 year ago

I mean, I did say it was labeled that elsewhere, I don't need to search it lol.

Syiepherze • 1 year ago

The Japanese title of this series is "Pocket Monsters" as always, this time with the subtitle "Liko & Roy's Departure" (in full, ポケットモンスター: リコとロイの旅立ち).
Meanwhile "Pokémon Horizons: The Series" is the official English title used by TPCi when licensing the anime to English-speaking markets.

"Pokemon (Shinsaku Anime)" isn't even the official title at all, shinsaku just means "new work" lol

nick • 1 year ago

they got to earn it

Lucyw18 • 1 year ago

are you sure thats Leafage it looks more like a leaf storm to me

Syiepherze • 1 year ago

Divine demon GOD Aris • 1 year ago

strange guy • 1 year ago

So that’s pretty much it for me for this anime .I didn’t feel like I was gonna watch this every week cause I have other stuff to do I’ll be back here when episode 30 is out and I’ll binge it because Pokémon anime is better in this format given how every season is around 100 episodes with the exception of the first 5 seasons was like 273 episodes so yeah

Pikapi Pikachupi • 1 year ago

Goodbye, for now.

Feenickz • 1 year ago

bro never learned the 3 episode rule

strange guy • 1 year ago

The three episode rule isn’t always the case for every anime because some anime takes a while to pick up

Feenickz • 1 year ago

It's still the standard, most anime have it.

strange guy • 1 year ago

Most but that doesn’t mean every anime is gonna be great in 3 episodes I personally wasn’t into attack on titan til episode 12 or 13

Noah Winns-Cromer • 1 year ago

Alright, 2 Pokemon episodes in 24 hours!

Nice!
